I have started to use the new blog! Nothing more will happen here
It hasn’t been to much activity here lately and I’m sorry about that. The reason is that I’m spending all my time trying to fix the new blog and since I’m no good at the html-stuff it takes some time. But it will be! natashalid #2 is coming!
Ffffound this today while looking for inspiration to my mascot’s logo. Want the style to be a bit bully-ish, maybe handwritten and casual like this one. Loved the colours as well!
Friday came and went and we presented all our assignments and the two weeks of curiosity and creativity is behind us. I’m really satisfied with this project. It was so interesting and eye-opening and I’m more aware of curiosity and its use now than I was before. Many good things will come from this. I’m sure. This weekend I’ve spent taking pictures of the place I live in. My home. Here’s a collage with the final pictures. Home sweet home.
These Wooden Dolls made by Alexander Girard are the main inspiration to my mascots right now. Found them on the blog Siggelicious some time ago and now that I’ve done some more research on them I realize that this is a style I want to use. I imagine my mascots as a bit retro childrens toys made by wood and bright colours. The concept has also changed a little bit since my last update on the project. They are now five; who, what, where, how and why and they does not give me so much resistance anymore, but rather ask the questions I need to ask myself or forget to ask myself when I’m working on something. They place themselves on my fingers to stop me from what I’m doing and stay there until I have answerd what they want to know. This way they help me not to forget to ask questions about what I do and make me think about things I didn’t think of in the first place.
Among all those other things I’m doing right now, I got this brilliant idea to do even more, and so I decided to use this weekend to finish the header of this blog. This is how far I’ve got. It’s not quite finished yet, but will be soon. I have also bought myself www.natashalid.com. My intention is to move this blog to the new address as soon as I get the time to do so.

No more rest; the holiday is definitively over! We’ve got a new project that will run over the next two weeks and this time it’s about inspiration and curiosity. We are told to look at the most everyday things and ask ourselves “what’s in it” and “what if” about everything. Just to make us see each thing in a new way and to see things we would not normally see. More or less to open our eyes more. To become aware of this we are given several assignments to work on. First assignment is to take two describing words about ourselves, one negative and one positive, and illustrate the meaning of the word by using the word itself – the typeface. Second assignment is to make an educational presentation to promote curiosity and how to wake the curiosity in people. The third assignment is to go to the store Clas Ohlson and study the products there and see them in a new way. To look beyond the familiar and turn 1+1 into 3. The fourth assignment is to take pictures of inspiration we find going till and from school – things that gives us ideas, things that are visually rhyming or rhyming in colour or just cunning coincidences we encounter. Fifth assignment is to write a long list about what we’ve done so far in our lives and thing that we want to do. And the sixth assignment is to answer questions about inspiration, how we get inspired and how we inspire others. For the next two weeks these assignments will run parallelly and everything is to be presented next Friday. Puh!

I wish I could make things like this. Amazing work by the Norwegian multi-disciplinary design consultancy Bleed.
I’m having a slow start on the year so while waiting for things to get going again I’ve begun to update the mine-page. Take a look!
